Psalm 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice and sing praise
On a recent trip in to town, I decided at the last minute to stop by my friends house to say hello. Lavon was gracious enough to ask me to stay for a visit.
Genuine love and concern flows from her heart for others. She has a way of making me smile even during some of our more intimate conversation.
We sat at her kitchen table for a while sharing small talk and a warm cup of coffee. I listened as she shared with me a special move of the Holy Spirit during praise and worship the previous Sunday at her Church. Then she asked if I would like to hear some of the songs they sang. Of course, I replied with a emphatic, Yes!
We made our way to the piano. Lavon played while both of us sang in harmony. It wasnt long before we were praising the Lord in one accord.
I thought of David dancing before the Lord, and commented to Lavon that I could almost dance with joy. She laughed and replied, Go right ahead. I didnt dance, but we had a joyous time in the Lord. I hated to see it end.
You can enter into the presence of the Lord singing! He doesnt ask you to have a professional singing voice. God simply desires your love and praise. You can enter into the holy place (his courts) with praise and thanksgiving. God has extended an invitation to us to visit him at any time!
Psalm 100:2, 4 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
I know our music was sweet to his ears, and a soothing balm to our souls.
